There is an alcohol reference in the game, and some swearing (H*ll, Sh*t, F*ck, B*tch). You don't need to worry about your privacy, as there's nothing that can harm your computer. The controls are pretty simple, just clicking the screen, and there's no consumerism from a personal experience. The game doesn't really have any good messages or role models, other than Monika's ''Tip of the day'' for your writing. But something is off, this time, Sayori has become self-aware. In the end, everything goes back to normal, with Sayori as the new club president. In the end, you are forced to delete Monika's character file. While this isn't most gruesome part of the game, it certainly is creepy and unsettling, as Monika can tell if you're recording or not, addresses you by your Steam account name (If you're playing on Steam) and can tell what device you're using. In the final act, it's just you and Monika in a room alone, with her staring at you. Monika deletes Natsuki's character file, and then the final act begins. From then on, she manipulates Yuri, turning her insane and in the end, stabbing herself with a knife. When the second act starts, Sayori is no longer present, and this time it's Monika who convinces you to join the club. This is when the game takes a turn for the worse. You go to her home, and find that she has hung herself with a noose, dying alone. The next day, Sayori isn't at school and you get worried about her. She doesn't directly say those words to her, but rather a hint that she should end it all. It comes to the point where while you're out helping one of the girls prepare for the festival (Either Natsuki or Yuri, whichever one you choose) Monika tells Sayori to kill herself. Meanwhile, Monika has become self aware and has used that to her advantage-manipulating each of the girls character files, so that the MC (You, the player) will think less of them. It starts off in the first act of the game (There are three acts) when your pushy childhood friend whom convinced you to join the club, Sayori, reveals to you that she's had really bad depression her whole life. The violence of this game is not something to joke about. But lets talk about the whole thing that the Karens of the world are on about-the violence. The soundtrack is awesome, and the little scenes with the girls that you get after wooing one of them with your poem are adorable. The whole game is supposed to be a dating sim visual novel that is set mostly in a high school literature club, well, ''was'' a visual novel, before the president of the club, Monika, becomes self-aware and realises that she's in a game.

This game does an excellent job at portraying mental illnesses and showing you what many people go through (Well, before Monika made everything much worse for the girls.) If you choose not to listen to them then it's your own fault.

It's rated psychological horror on Steam, there's warnings on the download page, and there's one final warning when you first load up the game. If you are considering playing this game, for the love of god, READ AND LISTEN TO THE WARNINGS! This game isn't at all cutesy or fun and bubbly.
